What does Pyng actually do?
It watches the people you care about and tells you when something real happens — a role change, funding, a launch, press — then hands you a message you can actually send. You approve every one; nothing is ever sent automatically.
What is the Signal Engine™?
The watching layer behind Pyng. It reads the public web for every person on your list, keeps only things that actually happened in the last thirty days, and turns them into a reason to reach out with a draft attached. Free runs the Basic Signal Engine™; Pro and Team run the Pro Signal Engine™.
Is Pyng free?
Yes, there's a free plan: 5 people watched by the Basic Signal Engine™, a full scan the moment you add someone, one reason to reach out a day, full signal history, and one person on Deep Watch. Pro is $29/month for the Pro Signal Engine™ — 250 people scanned daily, topic monitoring and Live Context — and Team starts at $59 per seat. Every new account starts with a 14-day Pro trial.
How often are people scanned?
On the Basic Signal Engine™, everyone gets a full scan when you add them and is re-read every few days. On the Pro Signal Engine™, everyone is scanned daily. Anyone you star for Deep Watch is read daily, several times over, on any plan.
What counts as a signal?
Something that happened, with a date on it. Pyng only builds a reason to reach out from a source that carries a real publication date and is under thirty days old, so old news never shows up as a fresh reason.
What is a Boost?
An on-demand re-scan of one person, right now — useful before a meeting. Free includes 3 a month, Pro 50.
What is Live Context?
Part of the Pro Signal Engine™: the optional Google Calendar and Gmail connection on Pro and Team. It preps you before meetings, nudges you afterwards, knows when you last actually spoke, and lets you send follow-ups from your own address. Free works entirely without it.
Can I watch topics as well as people?
On Pro and Team, yes. Saved interests and industry topics run as standing searches — hits become opportunities against the people tagged with that interest, or industry news for you when nobody is tagged. Free watches people only.
Do I have to connect my calendar or inbox?
No. Both are optional, and you can disconnect at any time from settings.
Does Pyng send messages for me?
Never automatically. Every draft waits for you to read, edit, and send.
Will my contacts ever be shared?
No. Your contacts are yours. We never share, sell, or expose them to other users.
Who can see who I'm following?
Only you. Your list, your notes, and your drafts are visible to your signed-in account alone — there's no shared directory, and no other subscriber can see who you watch. Cross-account access is blocked at the database layer, and a small founding team can reach production only to run the service and investigate incidents, with that access logged. Is Pyng end-to-end encrypted?
It's encrypted in transit over TLS and at rest in the database, storage, and backups, and Live Context tokens get an extra AES-256-GCM layer with the key held outside the database. It is not end-to-end encrypted, because our servers process your content to produce signals and drafts — we'd rather say that plainly than imply a guarantee we don't provide.
What happens if a regulator or court asks for my data?
We disclose only where legally compelled. We'll tell you unless we're legally prohibited, we push back on overbroad requests, and we disclose no more than the request requires.
Which regions does Pyng cover?
Public, English-language sources worldwide, with the deepest coverage in North America and Western Europe today. Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia are covered where the source publishes in English; local-language coverage is on the roadmap, driven by where members actually work.
What languages does Pyng work in?
English at launch, for both the interface and the sources it reads. Additional languages follow member demand.
If Pyng grows, does my edge shrink?
Signals are ranked against your relationships, not against a leaderboard. Nothing you write, draft, or send is ever visible to another subscriber, and nobody is told who else is watching a given person. The advantage comes from the relationship you already have and how quickly you use it — Pyng gives you the timing, not the relationship.
Can I try it, and can I get a refund?
Every new account starts on a 14-day Pro trial with no card. If you're charged and unhappy within 14 days, email support@pyng.co and we'll refund it. Cancel anytime from settings.
Is Pyng liable if it misses something?
No — and we say so in the Terms. Pyng surfaces public signals on a best-efforts basis; it isn't a market-data feed or a compliance tool, and coverage depends on what sources publish and when. Treat it as a head start, not a system of record.
How are members vetted?
Access is invite-only and every application is reviewed by hand — name, title, firm, and city. We're deliberately light on data collection at the application stage; we ask for what we need to judge fit and nothing more.
Does Pyng train AI on my data?
No. Your private content is never used to train external AI models.
What happens to my voice memos?
They're transcribed, used to extract facts you've chosen to remember, and stored encrypted. You can delete the audio anytime.
Can I import contacts from my phone?
Yes — on supported devices you can pick from your native contact picker, or import a vCard or CSV on the web. You decide who gets saved. Nothing is auto-imported.
What happens if I downgrade?
Nothing is deleted. People beyond your new plan's limit are paused from scanning and you choose who stays active. Upgrade again and they resume.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export everything as JSON from settings, anytime.
How do I delete my account?
Open settings → Account → Delete account. Your data is fully removed within 30 days.
Which devices does Pyng support?
Pyng runs on the web and works beautifully on mobile, tablet, and desktop, and can be installed to your home screen. Native apps are in testing.
